My brain is fried. I was reading headlines and thought there was a story about "two women forced to join equine therapy." When it was actually "Two women join forces to offer equine therapy."
Hehe I like mine.
We're going down town tomorrow night for the big Halloween party in Buffalo! We made up some costumes and are in a spooky mood. We haven't done this since, I think, 2017. That's way too long. It looks like people are doing fucking awesome costumes so I cannot wait to mingle and admire.

The first season rush is pretty much over. I still have 9+ orders that need to be done but the end is in sight. This year has not gone to plan. I planned for a seasonal push but didn't think anything like this would happen. The growth of my business is up by 484%

I'm just one person lol. My husband has taken over packaging up the creations and painting bases but even with all of his help I've been working 13+ hour days, every day, for 3 weeks now.
We haven't paid for marketing, this has only been five years of progress in the making. Here I was thinking that I'd be ready for the wave only to find myself tumbling head over heel with water up my nose and sand down my pants.
Next year things need to be different and I need to get a handle on the marketing that I actually want to do, which means I'm going to need to outsource it and pay someone to be my social media/website handler, at least for the busy season which is August until Mardi Gras of the next year.
I don't know.... These are the ideas that are floating through my mind as I try to figure out what we're doing. I get pushed to do festivals and sell in person and while I'm comfortable with that, it's a TON of work and I'm just one person. It's getting impossible to create and move this much product as well as be the marketer. This season I had a really few sad days where I started at 6:30am and stopped at 9pm, just long enough to do some yoga and then be in bed by 10.
People tell me to slow down, but that's just not possible when you have ambition and people are waiting in line to place orders. WAITING! Who can resist that? Okay, sure, probably a lot more well adjusted people could resist it but seasonal business owners have to know what I mean.
I'm rambling. I need to go write an email to my grandma.

I took off work early today to do work in the garden. I've been so focused on work, it feels like a whole month has been packed into one week. The weekend and the holiday gives me extra time to get orders ready.
I've been listening to the audiobook for A Peculiar Peril by Jeff Vandermeer. This one is a big departure from his usual writing style but I'm digging it. It's like fantasy, but gruesome. This is the 8th book of his that I've read and I'm pretty sure it's the first time he's ever used humor.
In general, life feels like a dream. I create each day, my husband gardens, cans, and preserves, and then comes up with meals to serve. He loves cooking so now while the season is busy he's in chef mode. His cooking is damn good.

Back when I had an office job, this might merit a pizza party. Damn, it's awesome though, it's awesome that I am able to do this and people like what I make. Back to work, hell yeah!
